Good Souls
A cozy ghost story
Coming Soon, 2026!
Douglas died on a stormy night in 1921, the unwilling successor to his father’s legacy, with his career and fiancé already chosen. Known only as ‘Doug the heir’ to a well-meaning family and town who refused to look deeper, Douglas prayed for only one, impossible thing.
Over a hundred years later, Lyndsy, a preacher’s granddaughter with social anxiety, boards a plane to Maine to visit family friends. Instead, she finds her soulmate in the disembodied soul of Douglas Flynn.
Together, they spend the summer exploring the ghost’s home, with its sun-dappled ballrooms, hidden doors and flower-strewn seaside meadows. They wander each other’s emotions and memories, content to have found love despite time and distance.
Then the host of a failing paranormal investigation show arrives, determined to document Flynn Manor’s ‘haunting’ at all costs. Can they evade discovery, or will the host tear the mortal girl and the ghost apart forever?
Sneak Peek:
“What?”
The book fell.
It wasn’t her ears that heard the word, though they might as well have. What reached her was clear and unmistakably human. Her eyes darted, but there was nothing to see. Her breath echoed in an empty room.
Then a point of light appeared before her.
Lyndsy’s world stood still. Her imagination scrambled for an explanation, but nothing fit. This was no sunbeam. No light bulb. No trick of any worldly light at all. It was as if a pinprick opened up in reality itself, letting the tiniest bit of eternity shine through. If she could think at all now, she might have wondered if the light felt soft and warm, or if it would feel like touching the cosmos itself.
As alarms rang in her skull, the impossible glimmer bloomed to the size of a fist—or a human heart—then suddenly it was not a ball at all.
